START CUP BERGAMO 2019 – PESENTI FOUNDATION SPECIAL AWARD

The Pesenti Foundation, strengthening its collaboration with the University of Bergamo, supports also this year the Start Cup Bergamo initiative aimed at enhancing business ideas by young people, particularly the projects developed by Bergamo 2.035, a long-standing joint initiative of the Pesenti Foundation, the University of Bergamo and Harvard University – Graduate School of Design.

 

Of particular importance is the establishment of a “Pesenti Foundation” Special Award for the project (evaluated by a jury of impact investing experts) with the most significant positive impact on local social dynamics.

 
 

 


 

Start Cup Bergamo 2018 is a business competition and a complete entrepreneurial training, conceived and realized by the University of Bergamo, which offers students and aspiring entrepreneurs the chance, and the challenge, to become successful future startuppers. The project also aims to consolidate the relationship between the University of Bergamo and the local economic and industrial fabric through the enhancement of research and technology transfer activities.

 
 


 
 

This year’s figures:

  • 59 startuppers.
  • 22 entrepreneurial ideas.
  • 19 projects by the students of the University of Bergamo, two of which were proposed by teams born out of the Bergamo 2.035 program.
  • 3 projects originating from the HC.LAB entrepreneurial training course, one of which was proposed by a group of Marconi Technical School seniors in Dalmine.

 
 


 
 

 
 


 
 

The University and the Pesenti Foundation, through the Start Cup project, implement concrete measures aimed at supporting young talents, unleashing their inventive potential and fueling their entrepreneurial spirit, to make them drivers of development and growth so that they can become the engine of creation and growth of high potential and innovative young firms.
Along with the establishment of a Special Award, the Pesenti Foundation will be involved in the training program through two sessions for an interactive discussion about the role of foundations and about the role of impact investing in a changing nonprofit environment.

 

The 2019 Start Cup edition will consist of 2 main stages:

 

Start Cup School

Period: from mid-June to late September.
Three training modules, filtering the best ideas in progress.

 

Start Cup Competition

  • Period: October first half
  • At this stage the Jury will evaluate the entrepreneurial proposals to identify the projects that will receive a contribution during the Start Cup Bergamo 2019 final event.
