1ST QUARTER: SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER 2018

Relationships with the host family:
I have excellent relationships with everyone in my host family. They always involve me in their activities, they are always ready to help me, both with my speaking German and with anything I need. I’m developing a strong bond with my host daughters, especially with the eldest. My host parents are very kind and real nice.

Relationships with the host community and friends:
As regards making friends, I hang out a lot with other exchange students in Flensburg, but not Germans. I made a few acquaintances among the host community but they were all polite and friendly.

Inclusion and academic achievement with respect to performance and interactions with teachers and peers:
I get along well with my classmates, even though I have not yet formed any real friendships. School subjects are very similar to their Italian equilavents, and that is good. Teachers are pretty helpful and supportive.

Extracurricular activities:
This week I will start playing tennis (two lessons a week). I often go walking or running around and I’m visiting the town of Flensburg.

Three beautiful things I will never forget:
1. The charm of living in a town overlooking the sea.
2. My host family.
3. The value and importance of order and organization.

Three nasty things I will never forget:
1. The indifference of schoolmates on the first day of school
2. The distrust of foreigners among locals
3. The coldness of people.
