SRI LANKA PROJECT – A FUTURE FOR CHILDREN

The Pesenti Foundation has been engaged in the design and supervision of the construction project of the Metiyagane Training Center in Sri Lanka.

The “Aid for Sri Lanka – A future for children” project, launched in 2005 via a post-tsunami fundraising and support intervention in collaboration with the local Salesian Congregation, ended with the construction of a Vocational Training Centre with laboratories, lodgings and refectory.

The Centre is located in Metiyagane, in the western region of the island, at a distance from the coast and 55 km northeast of the city of Negombo.

It is a technical vocational training school, focusing mainly on the construction trade and aiming to train resources to meet the predictably high demand for local infrastructures and dwellings.
