University of Brescia and Pesenti Foundation together for research

Bergamo, 4 April 2018 – The Pesenti Foundation and the University of Brescia have signed a collaboration agreement concerning the research activities of the MISTRAL Interdepartmental Center (Models for Prevention and Protection in Environmental and Occupational Health).

 
 
 
 
 
 


 

The Center’s activities have a methodological approach based on interdisciplinarity and their main scientific purpose, founded on rigorous methodological and technical-scientific bases, is the promotion, support and dissemination of studies and research aiming at the improvement of interaction between man, his work activity and his living environment, with focus on the territory where the University of Brescia operates.

 


 

The Center aims to be a meeting point for the implementation of an integrated and multidisciplinary research program, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in correct evaluation, estimation and management of physical, chemical, biological ergonomic and psychosocial risks among the general and working population.


 


 

The Pesenti Foundation’s support will focus on two specific activities of the Mistral Center: (1) a publishing initiative providing a handbook for breast cancer patients to cope with pathology, treatment and reintegration and an awareness-raising protocol in collaboration with the Occupational Health Clinics of Verona and Brescia; (2) experimental research activities focused on the development of a bio-monitoring program on drinking water treatment systems.
