LELLA COSTA AND CARLO PETRINI AT MANY FAITHS 2017

Saturday, October 14 – “Grow the Future. Blessed are Those who Inhabit the Earth” was the title of the speech by actress Lella Costa and Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food, for the 9th edition of “Many Faiths Under the Same Sky” festival, with the support of the Pesenti Foundation, at the San Giorgio church, Almenno San Salvatore.

An event organized on the occasion of the G7 Agriculture Ministerial Meeting, held in Bergamo on the same days, with the aim of approaching socio-cultural development and globalization from the different perspective of gastronomy.

Caring for Creation is a fundamental question of our time, perhaps the most important, but perhaps the most disregarded by politics and the least dear to a selfish humanity. But, taking care of the environment means taking care of the men and women that inhabit it and are intended to be its guardians.

Lella Costa is one of the most beloved Italian authors and actresses, a favorite guest of Many Faiths. In her career, which has been marked by a strong concern for social issues, she has trod the boards of major Italian theaters. She has actively engaged with the Slow Food organization and in 2014 she wrote “Minestrine”for the Slow Food publishing house, using storytelling to celebrate a democratic dish both evocative and comforting.

Carlo Petrini is the founder of the Slow Food cultural movement, a nonprofit international organization promoting a new food model respectful of the environment, traditions and cultural identities. Petrini was elevated to the Order of Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2004 and named FAO Special Ambassador Zero Hunger for Europe in 2016.
