Monday 9 October 2017 – Gad Lerner, journalist and Tito Boeri, economist at “Many Faiths Under the Same Sky” event, promoted by the Pesenti Foundation. They participated in the series of meetings entitled “Blessed are the Builders”. For a Convivial Coexistence of Diversities”, with the speech “Building the Future. A Pact Between Generations” at the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore, Bergamo Old Town.
Our Country risks becoming the Country of Cronus, the mythological Greek god who devoured his offspring. The choices of today will affect the future of our children and grandchildren, if we find a way to transform our problems into challenges and opportunities if we are able to transform what we see today as problems into challenges and opportunities from which from which we can start afresh again.
Tito Michele Boeri is an Italian economist. He WAS an advisor to the IMF, World Bank, the European Commission and the Italian government. Tito Boeri was senior economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). As President of the Italian Social Security administration (INPS), he proposed a welfare project transforming the pact between generations into reality.
Gad Lerner is one of the most well-renowned Italian journalists. In his work as commentator he has always tried to identify the problems lying behind the fundamental issues of national and international politics. For his birthday, he signed the Generational Pact against Gerontocracy.
