54th International Piano Festival in Brescia and Bergamo

The long-term collaboration between the Pesenti Foundation and the Piano Festival in Brescia and Bergamo continues.

“Beethoven and Napoleon. Music, between Ideals and Power”

Brescia, Teatro Grande • Bergamo, Teatro Donizetti
From 27 April to 9 June 2017

The 2017 program includes a cycle of 27 concerts, distributed between the theaters of Bergamo and Brescia, with music by Beethoven, Schubert, Rachmaninov, Schumann, etc., with the participation of major performers of the international scene and with the Festival Philharmonic Orchestra, formed mainly by young musicians, who have already achieved international renown, like the last great success at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, last January 11th.

Alongside the concerts, the Program includes collaboration with the Academies of Music of Brescia and Bergamo (this year it is worth mentioning the 8 concerts played by young talents of the Bergamo Academy of Music performing Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas), the launch of a new prize competition for students, related to the theme of the Festival and in collaboration with major cultural institutions and associations (Mai Library, Historical Museum, Carrara Academy, Gaetano Donizetti Conservatoire, Book Fair), together with the second edition of “In and Around the Festival” involving Brescia and Bergamo provinces.
