In 2015, the Pesenti Foundation supported a very important cultural event in the city of Bergamo, the “Palma Vecchio. The Look of Beauty” exhibition, one of the attractive events connected with EXPO Milan 2015.
The exhibition, curated by Giovanni C.F. Villa and promoted by the City of Bergamo, was the first anthological exhibition dedicated to Jacopo Negretti, known as Palma il Vecchio (Serina 1480 ca. – Venice 1528). The exhibition took place at the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GAMeC) from March 13 to June 21, 2015, and included more than thirty masterpieces of the Orobic artist from major public and private Italian and international collections: From London’s National Gallery to the Gemäldegalerie of Berlin and Dresden, from the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna to the Hermitage of St. Petersburg, from the British collections of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles of England to the Uffizi of Florence and the Galleries of the Venice Academy.
