THE PESENTI FOUNDATION AND THE INTERCULTURA PROGRAM

The initiative is launched in collaboration with Intercultura, an international Intercultura Association running extensive study abroad programs for many years and, for the third consecutive year, offers scholarships to students aged 15-17 to spend a study period abroad.

THE INTERCULTURA PROGRAM

The Intercultura Program previews departures in July or August 2011 and returns in July 2012. Two students (1 Italian student abroad and 1 foreign student in Italy) will spend their stay abroad with a host family that will become a real family to them.

The high quality education program aims at encouraging dialogue and interaction amongst teenagers from different cultures and is strongly consistent with the overall mission of the Foundation.

ADMISSION APPLICATIONS

Applications for admission must be submitted by October 2010 according to the competition notice. Intercultura, after the meetings with the candidates that will focus on a series of tests of fitness to participate in the programs offered, will draw up a list of participants based on academic merit, motivation and aptitude to live abroad.

Countries of destination

The countries of destination for the Italian students may be Belgium/France, Spain, China, Thailand, Egypt, Canada, USA and India, that are all countries where both the Group and the Intercultura Association are present. As for the full-year exchange student in Italy, the choice by the Intercultura Association fell to an Egyptian student.

Intercultura Association

The 50-year Intercultura Association Onlus promotes intercultural dialogue through international exchange programs involving thousands of young people and families around the world. It supports the internationalization of Italian schools by providing examples of good practices and training sessions on youth exchanges management (the Italian Ministry of Education recognizes the association as a qualified authority for training). It offers scholarships to foster international student mobility. The Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs adhere to the Foundation and support its activities.
